As a mother to a child with special needs, it has been, and always be, my mission to share Dax’s story.
I wanted our followers of our blog, and our friends and family to feel even more connected to Dax by having something tangible; to have this story in their hands and feel inspired to live with gratitude. Life is so much better when you shift your perspective!
Even though Dax’s Big Adventure! is listed as children’s book, I really do believe readers of all ages will enjoy it! I consider it more of a “family book”, and a book a child can grow into.
In addition, I share some life lessons and a glimpse of my postpartum experience in hopes to help other new moms feel that they aren’t alone.
Dax was on my lap as I wrote my first manuscript. And I am forever grateful that Dax and I were able to read the very first copy of our book together.
Inspired by Dax’s joyful spirit and the message behind Dax’s Big Adventure!, the Dax’s Big Adventure Fund helps families create treasured experiences and lasting memories during life’s most challenging seasons.
Through this fund, The Dax Blattner Foundation provides memory-making support for families navigating complex medical conditions, rare diseases, or a life-limiting diagnosis. Whether it’s a special outing, a family getaway, a favorite experience, or another opportunity that brings joy and connection, we believe that time together is one of life’s greatest gifts.
Dax taught us that adventure isn’t measured by distance traveled, but by the love, connection, and memories shared along the way. Through the Dax’s Big Adventure Fund, we hope to help families celebrate what matters most and create memories they will cherish forever.
The Dax Blattner Foundation recognizes that time together is precious and that creating memories can enhance the well-being of the entire family. Through the Dax’s Big Adventure Fund, support may be provided to families caring for a child with complex medical needs, a rare disease, or a life-limiting diagnosis. Assistance is considered on a case-by-case basis and is dependent upon available funding. Submission of a request does not guarantee assistance, and priority may be given based on individual circumstances and needs.
