Danielle is the Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the Dax Blattner Foundation, where she also serves as Co-Executive Director and Secretary. The foundation is a passion project inspired by her son, Dax. Being his mom and full-time caregiver is the greatest honor of her life, and her love for him fuels every part of this work. Through her journey advocating for Dax, Danielle has gained a deep understanding of the challenges families face in navigating multilayered and often fragmented healthcare systems.

Danielle volunteers at Children’s Mercy as a POPS mentor (Parents Offering Parent Support), a network of trained parent volunteers who talk with families about the challenges of their child’s health condition, as well as developmental and behavioral differences. She is also an active member of the Beacon Patient Family Advisory Council (PFAC) at Children’s Mercy, where she serves on the leadership team as the parent chair. The Beacon PFAC brings parents and clinic staff together to advocate for families, providing a space where parents and guardians can offer input on policies and procedures, enhance communication, and help expand education for patients and families.

Her background as a dental hygienist, along with her experience in storytelling through writing and photography, has helped shape her lifelong dedication to serving families. As a devoted mother, Danielle is committed to ensuring families receive the care and support they need.

Tyson is the Co-Founder and Chief Financial Officer of the Dax Blattner Foundation, where he also serves as Co-Executive Director and Treasurer. He leads the foundation’s financial strategy and operational growth, ensuring the organization remains sustainable and able to effectively serve families with extended NICU stays and families of children with complex medical needs and rare diagnoses.

Growing up in a small town in northwest Missouri and playing and coaching baseball, Tyson developed a deep understanding of the importance of community, as well as a lifelong passion for teamwork, mentorship, and helping others. Prior to parenthood, he volunteered with Ozzie as a Pet Pal at Children’s Mercy, bringing comfort and joy to patients.

As a mortgage broker with an MBA from Purdue University, he guides families through the home-buying process with care and integrity. He brings that same dedication to the foundation, ensuring families receive the resources and support they need.
